Questions, answered plainly
Why would anyone pay $5 for a building on a website?
You get a building in the city that every visitor sees, with your name, colours and logo and a link out, and a place in the public rankings. It is closer to a billboard or a profile page than to an asset. The terms say it is not land, property, securities, a token or anything that can be resold. If that is not worth $5 to you, that is a fair answer.
Is this an NFT, a token or an investment?
No. There is no token, no wallet and no resale. You pay once by card through Stripe (we never see your card details) and the terms give you a building on one lot for as long as the site operates. Value "is not an investment, a balance or a currency: it earns nothing, cannot be withdrawn, transferred, sold or refunded". If we ever close the city, owners get at least 30 days' notice by email.
What does it cost?
Entry prices start at $5 in the Outskirts, $19 in Midtown and $49 in Downtown, and rise as the city fills up, up to double the base price when every lot is taken. The price shown at checkout is final. A store inside your building is $39 for up to 6 products. You can also add value to a building later, from $5 to $10,000 per payment.
How do the rankings and height work?
Rank follows the total value paid into a building (entry price, amounts added later, the store upgrade, plus any referral reward). A building also grows taller with value, within limits for its district, so the skyline looks like the ranking but is not exactly it. Yes, that means the ranking is pay-to-climb, openly. Value sets height and place in the rankings, and nothing else, so it is a visibility ranking, not a financial one.
What is the money for?
It is the revenue of the company that runs the site, PROMONET COMUNICACIONES SL (see the legal notice). Nothing is promised back to buyers beyond the building, as the terms state.
Who checks what goes up?
We review every building before it opens; until then it shows only as a construction site. We refuse or remove content that is illegal, hateful, sexual, deceptive or infringes trademarks you do not own, and a building we refuse is refunded in full. Buildings marked as examples are not customers and are not for sale.
What is it built with?
Next.js with react-three-fiber (three.js). The city layout is deterministic and lives in code; the database (SQLite, on our own server in Germany) only stores who owns which lot and what they designed. Checkout holds a lot for 30 minutes while you pay.
